Compassionate Employers is a workplace support programme, which helps employers support their employees through bereavement, caring responsibilities or illness.
In 2023, we know that 57% of employees have experienced a bereavement in the last five years,
and more than 600 people quit work to look after older and disabled relatives every day
We are delighted to have joined the Compassionate Employers programme through Hospice UK across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. All trusts who joined, including Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust, HIOW Integrated Care Board, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, South Central Ambulance Service, Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health Foundation Trust, have been awarded silver. This is a demonstration of our commitment to better supporting our employees who are affected by terminal illness, care, and bereavement and to creating a more compassionate culture for workers in the UK.
